Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Selkirk Royale?

The Selkirk Royale is an 11-year-old Selkirk tradition and the PAC’s flagship fundraising initiative. On February 23, 2024, this adults-only evening will bring together 250 parents and neighbourhood supporters for a fun night in the school gym all in support of our children’s education

The evening will feature a play casino with blackjack and roulette, prizes, raffle and an online auction with great items donated by local businesses you love. The bar will be stocked with beer from Steamworks, cocktails from Verve and wine of course! Snacks and door prizes are included with the price of your ticket. And returning with live music: the Werewolves, led by singer and Selkirk Dad Ian Beatty. This year, DJ B Fad will join us for a dance party too!

What are we raising money for?

Our goal this year is to raise $20,000 for Selkirk PAC initiatives that include vital school programs and enrichments like sports, classroom equipment, music education, gardening, field trips, choir and even food and school supplies for local families struggling to make ends meet.

How can I get tickets?

Unfortunately, tickets for the 2024 Selkirk Royale are sold out. Sign up here to add your name to our waitlist in the event tickets become available.

Are teachers and school staff coming?

Many of them are, yes! All are invited and many of them have generously offered to volunteer. Some will even be dealing blackjack.

How can I help make this a success?

Thanks for asking! First of all, please come to the event! Second, we do need more parent volunteers to help us pull the event off. So please sign up to volunteer on Friday or Saturday. Thank you!

Do I have to be a Selkirk parent to attend the Royale?

No, but you should have received a personal invitation from a Selkirk parent or guardian. This is a neighbourhood event and if you’re a neighbour without kids at Selkirk that wants to support or a close friend or family of Selkirk parents, then you are certainly welcome to join for the festivities.
