PAC (Parent Advisory Council) General Meeting
Bike to School Week
May 31st to June 4th
Get your bicycles, helmets and locks ready for the spring Bike to School Week!
If you are on a small budget without a bicycle, non-profit bicycle organization Kickstand can help. It has adult and children’s bicycles available by donation in East Vancouver (available sizes will vary). See www.eastvankickstand.org
This year The Hub Cycling, who organize bike to school week, have a contest for students to make short films about bicycling for prizes. Grab a camera or a smart phone and get shooting. See bikehub.ca/bikereels for details.
See you on your bicycle around Selkirk soon.
Family Photo Fundraiser
Street Studio Photography is excited to present a FAMILY PHOTO MARATHON weekend for the families of Lord Selkirk Elementary! To raise money for your PAC, Street Studio will be at the Lord Selkirk School Grounds on May 29th and 30th snapping photos of you and your family. Because this is the first year we are collaborating and fundraising together, we are offering a special rate of $85 per mini-session. See the fundraising page to learn more.
To book a session please go to: https://www.streetstudio.ca/lordselkirk
FlipGive Shopping Cards
Purchase your favourite gift cards for regular shopping with FlipGive (SuperStore/Loblaws, Home Depot, Walmart, Sport’s Chek, Chapters Indigo, Old Navy, Apple, Esso, and more…). Each purchase = donation back to our school!
Direct Drive Campaign
This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are unable to host our biggest fundraiser, Selkirk Royale. It is our hope that this direct drive fundraising initiative will help us raise the $10 000 normally raised at the Selkirk Royale.
Your financial contributions have supported numerous initiatives including extra-curricular learning experiences such as camps and clubs as well as legacy items including Apple TV/iPad learning systems, outdoor learning spaces equipment and new volleyball lines for the gym.
This year, your money will be going to the following PAC sponsored school programs, which include:
- Expanding the gardening program
- Saleena Noon body science workshops for students and parents.
- Physical education equipment
- Outdoor learning needs and technology upgrades
How do I make a donation?
Option 1: Online credit card payment through School Cash Online – once you login select your amount and ensure “Lord Selkirk PAC” is the recipient. You will automatically be issued a tax receipt.
Option 2: Cheque and Paper Form – Cheque made out to Lord Selkirk Elementary submitted with the Direct Drive form below. For more detailed information and the paper form for donation, please see our Direct Drive Letter.
Thank you for your support.
