Lord Selkirk – School Active Travel Plan
Lord Selkirk Elementary was one of four schools participating in the City of Vancouver 2015/2016 School Active Travel Program (SATP). This process seeks to improve the safety and comfort of walking and cycling to school, and to encourage more students and families to use active transportation modes to get to and from school. SATP directly supports the
City of Vancouver Transportation 2040 policy and actions related to creating higher quality walking and cycling routes to schools. Click here to read the 2017 report (2018 report to be out soon!).
Chess club is looking for supervisors – Selkirk’s Chess Club is a phenomenon! One of the best attended school clubs in the city. The club meets every Thursday at lunch (12-1:15), chess experience is not required. Please sign up for a Thursday here or feel free to drop by.
Grounds and Gardens Committee – We set up work parties and plan special outdoor spaces for our kids. If you are interested in attending let us know: email@example.com
Knitting Club Needs Donations!
We have had an overwhelming response to the idea of a knitting club at Selkirk! We are looking for donations of:
-straight knitting needles, ideally size 4-6mm
-yarn of any kind
-spool knitting tools (Knitting Nancy)
We will have a box in the office for these donations.
Volunteers are welcome. Grade 1s and the experienced group will be Mondays at lunch and the beginners will be Wednesdays at lunch.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or are available to volunteer.
